The Eden Valley-Watkins Boy Scout Troop 363 is in the process of raising funds to acquire a new camp trailer. The Troop is currently using a trailer that was re-purposed more than 40 years ago. Exact age of the current trailer is unknown, but it is apparent that it has been heavily used and is showing serious signs of age.
The Troop has been writing grants and fundraising to purchase a trailer and build the racking needed to make it camping-ready. While we do have some money in our “trailer fund,” we fear that we may not have enough in order to be ready for the 2014 summer camping season without asking for help.
If you are a supporter of Boy Scouts and would like to contribute to the Boy Scout trailer project, your name/your business name can appear on the trailer showing that you helped fund it. Funds can be written out to Troop 363 and mailed to the Scoutmaster at 234 Jacquin Lane, Eden Valley MN 55329. Any support is welcome, whether it be in monetary form or as a pledge to build racking or for artwork design for signage, etc. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
The Kimball Kruisers had fun painting for their January meeting. Art As You Like It came down to the Kimball Area High School to show the 4-Hers how to paint pottery. 4-Hers could choose from a peace sign piggy-bank, a slug bug piggy-bank, or a pig piggy-bank. We chose three colors and started painting. It took almost two hours to get everyone done with their piggy-bank, but it was worthwhile.
Thanks to Art As You Like It for coming down to Kimball to teach us how to paint.
Share the Fun was also discussed. We are looking for ideas for this year’s performance. Share the Fun and performing arts will be held Sunday, Feb. 23, in Litchfield.

Since last month, our club has gotten our webpage setup and going. You and your friends can go online to centrallakessnowmobileclub.com, and get current information on trail conditions, club activies, club contacts, meeting location and times, Weather and snow depth maps, and much more. Also, check out our sponsor page and see who is supporting snowmobiling in your area, then you can show them support by shopping at their businesses.
We got some snow Tuesday, Jan. 14, and got the trails groomed on Jan. 15, so get out there and ride those trails and enjoy your hobby to the fullest. We will continue to be grooming the trails at least two times a week until it melts.
Thank you landowners for letting us cross your land.
The Kimball Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored a Vegas Night at Generations Ballroom in Kimball. Chamber members served as dealers, and members and their guests enjoyed hours of fun and good food. Each individual’s “winnings” were used to bid on auction items at the end of the evening. Local businesses donated the auction items. Steve Maus was pressed into service as auctioneer. Please note the change in schedule for only January for the Eden Valley Food Shelf.
We will be open the second Wednesday, Jan. 8, and the fourth Wednesday, Jan. 22.
