KAHS Winter Band Concert

Monday, March 11, the KAHS Bands will present their Winter Concert at 7:30 p.m. in the North Gym at Kimball Area High School. The bands will perform a variety of literature ranging from the
Sr. High Band’s contest material to a medley from the musical Les Miserables and the Raiders March from the Indiana Jones movies. There should be something for every musical taste, so please join us for an evening of music. The concert is free and open to the public.

Kimball Kindergarten Round-up March 25

The Kimball Kindergarten Round-up is planned from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 25, at the Kimball Elementary School. If you have questions, please call the Elementary Office at (320) 398-5425.

 

February Students of the Month

In order to recognize achievement, outstanding progress, and responsible behavior in our student body, grade-level teams made up of teachers select one Kimball Area High School student in each grade to be w-Cropped-studentsMo-Febrecognized as the Student of the Month. The monthly winners are recognized in school, on the school website, and in the Tri-County News. They also receive a Subway gift certificate and Chamber Bucks from the Kimball Area Chamber of Commerce. You can earn cash for your school every time you shop for groceries. “Box Tops for Education” is a program that pays 10¢ for every Box Top coupon you save. Be aware that these coupons have an expiration date on them.

Campbell Soup labels also have a coupon on them. “Labels For Education” are worth points for your school. Make sure you are clipping the whole coupon. It includes the Labels for Education insignia, point value and bar code.

Saturday State Wrestling Tournament update

Nine young men from Kimball and Eden Valley-Watkins made it to the Minnesota State High School League state wrestling tournament, as individuals. (Neither team is in the team competition.) Individual competition began yesterday, Friday, March 1.

Today, Saturday, March 2, is the final day of Individuals. Here's what we're looking at:

Blane Tschida (113#) will wrestle Spencer Jenniges (Wabasso/Red Rock); the winner will face either Joe Fischenich (WIndom/Mountain Lake) or Cameron Sykora (Border West) for the Championship.

Zach Blonigen (120#) has defeated Clem Gerads (Holdingford, by Technical Fall 16-1) and Landyn VanOverbeke (Minneota, by 11-4 Decision) and is still in the running for Third.

Quinten Berres (126#) will face Tyler Keller (Medford); the winner will face either Kyle Drehmel (Goodhue) or Tyler Tensen (BBE) for Champion.

Marcus Hamer (138#) has defeated Dylan Boettener (St. Clair/Mankato Loyola, by Fall in 4:10); he faces Alex Haffner (Chatfield) for Third.

Cain Renner (145#) has defeated Ryan Meeker (Chatfield, by 3-0 Decision); he now faces Trevor Scott (Holdingford) for Third.

Austin Peterson (152#) has defeated Zack Gleiter (St. James, by 9-1 Major Decision) and now faces Luke Norland (Jackson County Central) for Third.

Luke Kuechle (160#) lost to Alex jackson (Kenyon-Wanamingo, by 7-3 Decision).

Travis Wills (182#) beat Devin Wolle (St. James, by 12-6 Decision), but then lost to Dillon Card (Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale, by 2-0 Decision).

Tim Konz (285#) lost his first match yesterday to Tyler Jenson (Benson, by 2-1 Decision), and is not scheduled for other competition.
