Greetings to Kimball Area

Hello Kimball community and central Minnesota,

This is Jim Wagner, the superintendent and community education director for the Kimball area schools. Preparation is well on its way as we prepare for the students return Tuesday, Sept. 2. I am excited to start my first year in the school district. We also have a significant number of new staff to both the high school and the elementary buildings.

The elementary welcomes new principal Keri Johnson. She comes to us from the St. Cloud school district. She has been working with elementary students for 18 plus years as a teacher and assessment coordinator. I know that she is looking forward to meeting as many students and parents as possible at the open house from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, The high school is having open house the same night as well, with the same times. The open house at the high school will be special this year because of a girls’ volleyball match that night as well. It will be a great night for the community to come out and cheer our girls on to victory.

Sept. 9: Old Coots meet

The next meeting of the Coots is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Triple R in Kimball.

As most of you have heard we lost a couple more members since our last get together. Andy Maus passed away in May, and Jerry Rice in August.

Spread the word about the Sept. 9, and hope to see you there. Note second Tuesday in May and September, permanent dates.

Kimball preschool teacher added

Another preschool teacher has been hired to serve our 3-year-old students.

Kimball Play and Learn Preschool is happy to introduce our newest team member. Ms. Amy Feddema will be teaching the 3-year-old section of Play and Learn Preschool Monday and Wednesday mornings. She will also be serving as the Kimball/EV-W Early Childhood Educator for the Thursday morning Mixed Age Early Childhood Family W-Amy-Feddema-Untitled
Education (ECFE) Class that begins in October.

Hello families of Kimball Play and Learn Preschool,

I am thrilled to be a new addition to the Kimball Early Childhood Team. I have been substitute teaching for the past year and a half in preschools and elementary schools in both the St. Cloud and Sauk Rapids-Rice school districts. I have also worked as a special education paraprofessional for two years while completing my teaching license at St. Cloud State University. Prior to pursuing my passion of teaching, I worked with adults with disabilities for 13 years.

I have been married for 12 years to my wonderful husband Brent. We have an amazing daughter Abby (7) and loving dog Tanner (11). I enjoy spending time with family and friends and just being outdoors. I am so excited to begin my teaching career in Kimball.

I look forward to meeting you and your children soon.

School districts prepare for the coming school year

Both the Eden Valley-Watkins and Kimball school districts have been making preparations all summer for the coming 2014-15 school year.

Both districts face fluctuating enrollment, with class sizes that could change once school begins. And both districts have added sections of classes at the respec- tive elementary schools in antici- pation of larger class sizes.

Kimball Public Schools Open House Aug. 26

Kimball Public Schools are planning their Open House 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26.

Please stop in to see your child’s room, meet the teachers, pay for lunches, and bring in supplies.

At the elementary school, there will be booths set up in the gym for lunch tickets, P.I.E., Hendricks Bus Company, Early Childhood programs, and many more. Please be sure to check out the many helpful representatives there.

At the high school, there will be a picnic for parents and students starting at 4 p.m. Seventh-
graders will receive their locker assignments, and all students will be given their schedules.

Hope to see you there.
