ASSE International Student Exchange Programs, in cooperation with the local high school, is looking for local families to host boys and girls between the ages of 15 and 18, from a variety of countries; Norway, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Japan, to name a few.
ASSE students come with an enthusiasm to practice their English and experience American culture – food, sports, shopping and more. They also love to share their own culture with their host families. Host families welcome these students into their family, not as a guest, but as a family member, giving both the students and families a rich cultural experience.

St. John’s Prep is pleased to announce Ellen Arnold, sophomore, daughter of John and Margaret Arnold of Kimball, as a new member of the 
National Honor Society, Virgil Michel Chapter.
The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who demonstrate excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921. Today, it is estimated that more than one million students annually participate in activities of NHS and its middle level counterpart, the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). NHS chapters are found in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, many U.S. territories, and Canada. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but also challenges them to develop through involvement in school activities and community service. Both NHS and NJHS were founded by and are programs of the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
Holy Cross School wins contest

Holy Cross School competed in WILD Country 99’s “Wild About Reading” contest in February and ended up the winner! The contest 
asked the schools to get their community to go to the radio’s website and vote for the school they thought should win the prize of $1,500 for the school library. Holy Cross School was awarded $1,500 for the library! Among those in the photo are five students, principal of Holy Cross Amanda Steichen, and Jeana Meyer at Leighton Broadcasting’s offices in St. Cloud where they accepted the prize. Submitted photo.

Holy Cross Catholic School raises $8,040 through Catholic United Financial Raffle
Students at Holy Cross Catholic School could relax and celebrate Thursday, after raising a grand total of $8,040 for their school this year through the Annual Catholic Schools Raffle.
