Only about four percent of Boy Scouts achieve the highest rank of Eagle Scout. Among the general population, it’s less than one percent.
Hunter Schreifels joined an elite group Sunday afternoon at the Boy Scout Honor Court, a ceremony officially making him an Eagle Scout.
A public service project is part of the process getting to Eagle Scout. Hunter’s project was completed this past summer. He expanded the overhang over the concession stand at the Pearl Lake ball park, extending it about 10 feet to be even facing the field. He also put cement under the overhang, and there’s a fresh coat of paint on everything. The overhang project provides a place for fans to get out of the sun or rain.
The public is invited to the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Hunter Schreifels 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at Holy Cross School in Pearl Lake (Marty). the ceremony is at 1 p.m. followed by an open house. Holy Cross School is located at 10672 County Road 8.
