A special meeting of the Watkins City Council shall be held Monday, June 16, 2014, at 7 p.m. at City Hall. Purpose of the meeting is to discuss the adoption of Ordinance #2014-1, An Ordinance Establishing Urban and Rural Service Districts within the Municipal Limits of the City of Watkins.

Watkins Brush Pickup Notice
The City of Watkins will begin brush pickup on Thursday, May 1, 2014. Pickup will be the first and third Thursday of the month. All brush material must be placed curb-side by 7 a.m. Grass clippings and leaves must be in bags weighing no more than
30 pounds. Brush, sticks, and small branches must be tied in bundles no longer than 4 feet long and must not weigh more than
30 pounds. No boxes of brush material will be accepted. This is a free service offered to the residents of the City of Watkins. Brush materials not complying with the above rules will not be picked up. If you have a large quantity of brush to pick up, prior arrangements must be made with the City and a rate of $65 per hour for truck and equipment use will apply. If you wish to haul your own brush material, arrangements must be made with City Hall one day in advance by calling 764-6400.

Important Information Regarding Assessment and Classification of Property

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Appeal and Equalization for the City of Watkins shall meet on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at 7:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Watkins City Hall, 111 Central Avenue South. The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether taxable property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor, and to determine whether corrections need to be made.
The City of Watkins Planning Commission shall hold a public hearing on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at 7 p.m. at City Hall. The purpose of the hearing is for public review of a preliminary plat and final plat application submitted by Centra Sota Cooperative. The applicant is requesting to combine all property under one parcel identification number and one legal description.
