Kimball celebrates Memorial Day 2013

The Kimball Legion and Auxiliary hosted a Memorial Day service again this year at Kimball Elementary School. The Legion, Auxiliary, Sons w-130527memdaykim006of the Legion, and Junior Auxiliary marched to the school from the Legion Club. The Auxiliary did the "Empty Chair" ceremony, and demonstrated the folding of the flag. A "gravesite" service was held outdoors at the school. (All local Legions and Auxiliaries are looking for young people to join their ranks; ask any dcurrent member about it.)

Kingston Memorial Day May 27, 2013

The Kingston Legion and Auxiliary, and the Kingston community choir presented this year's Memorial Day service in the new Veterans w-Kingston MemDayMemorial park. Mike Kingery was the guest speaker. Local residents enjoy their Veterans Memorial Park, next to the cemetery, and people come from near and far for the annual Memorial Day service there.

Watkins Memorial Day Program May 27, 2013

After parading up Central Avenue, the Watkins Legion, Wat-Kim-Valley V.F.W., the POW/MIA Honor Guard, and the Eden Valley-Watkins w-Watkins MemDay-verticalhigh school band entered St. Anthony Church for the service and Mass. Watkins held all their services indoors.

 

Memorial Day, Eden Valley May 27, 2013

The Wat-Kim-Valley V.F.W. POW/MIA Honor Guard joined the Eden Valley Legion and Auxiliary, Legion Firing Squad, Eden Valley Boy and Girl Scouts, and the Eden Valley-Watkins high school band in celebrating Memorial Day May 27. Eden Valley native Lt. Col. Steven Thielen was the special speaker for the ceremony, and Rev. Bryan Hopfensperger gave the invocation and benediction. Celebrating 40 years

Fr. Tom Olson celebrated his 40th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood on May 20. There was a celebration held at the Church of St. Anne W-25-Fr-Tom-OlsonSunday, May 19, with members of both his parishes, St. Nicholas and Church of St. Anne, helping. The anniversary celebration was held following the 10 a.m. mass. Helping Fr. Tom with the service were the Knights of Columbus and classmate and fellow priest Fr. Tom.
