Celebrating 40 years

Fr. Tom Olson celebrated his 40th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood on May 20. There was a celebration held at the Church of St. Anne W-25-Fr-Tom-OlsonSunday, May 19, with members of both his parishes, St. Nicholas and Church of St. Anne, helping. The anniversary celebration was held following the 10 a.m. mass. Helping Fr. Tom with the service were the Knights of Columbus and classmate and fellow priest Fr. Tom.

“How Does Your Garden Grow?” Ask the Master gardener, Sue Johnson of Buffalo at a brunch held just for you at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 13,
at Reichel’s Event Center, Annandale. She will share her gardening expertise and answer many of your summer gardening questions. Soloist, Penny Koets of Maple Lake will bring you a lovely bouquet of music, and speaker and artist Carlatta Rasmussen of Jamestown, N.D. will speak about how her dreams were painted on the canvas of her life one stroke at a time. Cokato Museum Memorial Day program

The Cokato Museum & Historical Society will host its annual Memorial Day Open House from 9 a.m. to Noon Monday, May 27. Stop by the museum for refreshments before, during, and after the Cokato Legion and Auxiliary parade and program.

This will be the final day for our current display, Cokato Is Open For Business. Visitors can also see some of the many changes we have been making to our exhibit gallery as we work to update those areas.

Eden Valley Memorial Day Program

Assemble for the parade at the west side of the American Legion building at 10:30 (Legion Firing Squad members, all other Legion members, at 10:30 at the Legion Post) The parade will consist of the Colors with the Guard, all veterans and members of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, Junior Auxiliary, POW/MIA Honor Guard, Eden Valley Girl Scouts, Eden Valley Cub Scouts, and Boy Scouts.

The parade will begin on Stearns Avenue, west to State Street, and south to the Legion Park.

Kimball Memorial Day Program

The Kimball American Legiuon, Auxiliary, SAL, and Junior Auxiliary will be meeting at the Legion Club at 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 27, Memorial Day, for parade line-up. We will march up to the Kimball Elementary School for the Memorial Day program. The public is encouraged to meet along the parade route and attend the program at the school that will start at 10 a.m.

The Amnerican Legion Frederick A. Metcalf Post 261 will present the colors.

The public is invited to follow the Legion and Auxiliary to the school lawn for the gravesite service.

Pleast Note: There will be a potluck lunch at the Kimball Legion Club following the ceremony. Please bring a dish to share and join us as we continue to pay tribute.
