Aug. 17: 2nd Annual Deegan’s Drive for Donors

In memory of Deegan Johnson-Pramann, son of Bailey Johnson and Josh Pramann.

This event is for bike, hot-rod, and street car Sunday, Aug. 17, at Pearl Lake Lodge in Marty.

The run will leave the Pearl lake Lodge at noon with check-in beginning at 10 a.m. The plan is to return to the Pearl Lake Lodge between 2:30 and 3 p.m. for food and fun with the Smok’n Guns Band. No wheels, no problem. Come join us for dinner, drink and dance.

Food will be served from noon to 6 p.m. The band will perform from 3-7 p.m. There’ll also be a silent auction and meat raffle with the majority of proceeds going to benefit Mylee Scapanski, and the rest to Life Source, which is an organ placement organization.

July 18: St. Cloud Singles Dance

Beauty and the Beast this week


Kimball Community Playhouse has a tradition of bringing to life great stories. From “Annie” to “The Adventures of W-BeastBellTom Sawyer,” from “Bye Bye Birdie” to “Footloose,” the process begins with selecting a great story, develops with building sets, creating costumes, and casting talented actors, culminates with the drawing of the opening night curtain, and ends with the closing night finale.


Pedal Pilgrimage Aug. 15


Friday Aug. 15, a Pedal Pilgrimage to the Grasshopper Chapel in Cold Spring is planned.

St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church in Forest City is again organizing the annual pedal pilgrimage to the Grasshopper Chapel in Cold Spring. This 20-mile bike ride combines spiritual and physical exercise. Bikers gather at 3 p.m. Friday for prayer at St. Gertrude’s with additional prayer stops along the way. The pilgrimage concludes with a Mass at the Grasshopper Chapel in Cold Spring.
