Kingston Memorial Day Service

The annual Memorial Day services honoring the sacrifices of our armed forces again will be at the Kingston Veterans Memorial in Kingston. The program will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 27. The guest speaker will be Mike Kingery,. (You may want to bring your own lawn chair.)

Refreshments following the program will be served at the Kingston Community Center.

Watkins Memorial Day Program

Members of the American Legion and Auxiliary, VFW, and Auxiliary, will assemble at the City Hall on Central Ave. The Military Color Guard will lead the parade to Veterans Park. The program at Veterans park begins at 9:30 a.m.

Following the Veterans Park observance, the Color Guard will lead us to St. Anthony Cemetery where Fr. Jack Brunner will hold an outdoor Mass, weather permitting. (In case of inclement weather, Mass will be held at St. Anthony Church.)

 

Holy Cross Parish breakfast 8:30 a.m. May 26

Holy Cross Parish is planning a breakfast 8:30 a.m. to noon Sunday, May 26 at 10672 County Road 8 in Marty (Pearl Lake).

The menu includes omelets w/optional ingredients, Knaus sausage, hash browns, pancakes with fruit toppings, baked goods, coffee, juice and milk. Gluten free options are available upon request.

The cost is $7 for adults, $5 for ages 5-12 years old and under age 5 are free. The breakfast will be a benefit for Holy Cross School.

New Beginnings celebrates 30 years

Serving single pregnant women and their babies

New Beginnings, a nonprofit residential program for pregnant women and their babies is celebrating 30 years of serving.

Their silent auction and dinner is New Beginnings’ largest fundraiser of the year. All proceeds will go towards the New Beginnings Program, a 501c3 nonprofit.
