April 5: ZUMC Rummage, Bake Sale

Zion United Methodist Church of South Haven will have a rummage and bake sale 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 5. There will be household, books, craft supplies, clothing, and lots of miscellaneous; and a bag sale the last hour. ZUMC is located at 450 Fairhaven Ave. in South Haven.

 

April 12: St. Anthony Manor hosts chili luncheon

There will be a chili luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at St. Anthony Manor on Church Street in Watkins.

For $4 per person, the menu is a bowl of chili, muffin, beverage and crackers. 

 

St. Wendelin School fundraiser March 31

St. Wendelin School in Luxemburg will be having a Pizza Ranch Fundraiser from 5-8 p.m. Monday, March 31. You must mention you are there, at Pizza Ranch in Waite Park, for St. Wendelin School and 25 percent of your order (before taxes) will go to the school.

 

March 30: St. Anthony School tour

This is an exciting time for the Church of St. Anthony in Watkins. The parish is making plans for its upcoming 125th anniversary and preparing to build a new parish center. St. Anthony’s Building Committee is hosting a School Tour and Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12 noon Sunday, March 30, in the parish center (St. Anthony School).

The breakfast is a free will offering with the proceeds to benefit the new parish center. This is a time for St. Anthony School alumni and parishioners to come and reminisce in the old school with scrapbooks, tour the classrooms, and ask questions of the Building Committee members. The school was built in 1928 and has served the community well over the years. The School will be removed and replaced by the new parish center. 

 

April 11: St. Anthony Annual Fish Fry

The Council of Catholic Women of St. Anthony Church in Watkins will be having their Annual Lenten Fish Fry Friday, April 11, at the St. Anthony Parish Center. They will be serving from 4:30-8 p.m. On the menu will be fish, coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans, bread and homemade bars, along with a beverage. Take-out orders will also be available. The cost will be $9 for adults, $4 for children ages 4-10, and free for those 3 and younger.
