Matt Dingmann hit a 2-out 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to help the Kimball Express defeat the St. Augusta Gussies 10–8. With the Express leading 8–4, going into the ninth inning, the Gussies came up with 4 runs to tie the game at 8–8. That set the stage for Dingmann’s blast in the bottom of the ninth. With a 1–2 count and 2 outs, Dingmann hit the next pitch over the left field wall with his game-winning home run on a warm 75-degree day at Kimball Memorial Baseball Field.
The Eden Valley Hawks hosted the Pearl Lake Lakers in their first game of the season Sunday, April 28. The Lakers would dampen the Hawks, winning 4-2. The Hawks next play Sunday at St. Nick.

It seems the horrific, historic winter weather has released its icy grip on Minnesota and the spring sports season is finally underway.
