EV-W wrestlers fall short v Kimball

According to believers in “biorhythms,” a person’s life is affected by rhythmic biological cycles whichaW-IMG 2973ffect one’s ability in various domains, such as mental, physical, and emotional activity. Apparently, the majority of the Eagles’ wrestlers were experiencing very low, physical biorhythm levels last Thursday night.

The EV-W Boys basketball team shined bright in the St. John’s Prep Christmas Tournament opener Thursday night, Dec. 20, as they exploded for a commanding 66-46 win over the Rush City Tigers.

EV-W boys suffered their second loss of the early season Tuesday night, Dec. 18, at the hands of the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars. The Eagles were defeated 63-47, marking back-to-back road losses.

Lady Eagles roll over Kimball Area Lady Cubs in basketball

W-06Senior center Courtney Dilley led the EV-W lady Eagles at home Friday night, when she tossed in 18 points to help seal a commanding victory over the Kimball Area Cubs, 57-38. The Kimball club with a record of 4-3 is by no means a pushover opponent, but the team effort and evenly-distributed scoring from the EV-W girls was too much on that night. Holly Schumacher, senior guard, contributed 9 points; sophomore forward Greta Stommes tallied 12, including 6 from the charity stripe; Brook Stang, sophomore guard, ended with 8, while junior forward Dani Nelson added 6 of her own.

Cubs wrestlers compete at Frazee Duals

W-598417 314424812007133 1638998375 nThe Kimball Cubs wrestling team traveled to Frazee Saturday, Dec. 15, to compete at the Frazee Les Kertscher Duals. Sophomore Quinten Berres got his 100th win, and teammate senior Austyn Schlueter had 3 wins/3 pins. Five Kimball wrestlers earned the BEAST MODE Award for going undefeated. They are Blane Tschida (113), Quinten Berres (126), Marcus Hamer (138), Travis Wills (182), and Austyn Schlueter (195). Participating teams were Foley Falcons, Perham Yellow Jackets, Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial Area Knights, Frazee Hornets, Minneota Vikings, Kimball Area Cubs, Brainerd Warriors, and Lisbon Broncos.

In photo, Kimball Cubs Travis Wills (182 pounds) competed at the Frazee Duals. Travis remains undefeated and earned the BEAST MODE Award.
