Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 6, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Eden Valley with Rev. Bryan Hopfensperger officiating. Friends and relatives may call from 12 noon until the time of services at 1 p.m. at the church in Eden Valley. Burial will be in the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.


Joy (Stelton) Niemi, 60

Joy (Stelton) Niemi of Melrose, formerly of Kimball, died peacefully Friday, May 30, 2014, surrounded by her loving family at Legends at Heritage Place in Sartell, after a W-Niemi Joy Photo Ovalcourageous battle with Alzheimer’s She was 60.


A memorial service celebrating her life will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, June 6, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Melrose with pastor Kevin Mann officiating. There will be a gathering prior to the service at the church from 12-2 p.m.



Walter Tadych Jr., 70


Walter Tadych, Jr., of Kimball died Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the St. Cloud Hospital. He was 70.W-TadychWalter2

There will be no funeral service. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, June 1, at the Benson Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Burial will be in Maine Prairie Cemetery in Kimball.

Charlene Benoit of Dassel died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at her daughter’s home in Dassel. She was 75.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at the St. John’s Catholic Church in Darwin with Fr. Brian Mandel officiating. A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday evening May 30, at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel with a rosary at 7 p.m. and parish prayers following the rosary. There will be a one-hour visitation prior to the service Saturday at the St. John’s Catholic Church in Darwin. A private family interment will be held at a later date at the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Darwin.W-Charlene-Benoit
