Classroom of the week: Mrs. Jarvis' 1st Grade

We are 21 students.

Some of the things we'll learn this year include reading and literacy skills; money, adding, and skip counting in math. We also will work on social skills and learn how to be a good friend!

We will go to see a June B. Jones play Thursday, Dec. 13. And April 26, we'll visit Earthway Farms in Fair Haven.VThe wide variety of talents and abilities makes this class an amazing group of kids!

Student experiences Hurricane Sandy firsthand

A weekend getaway turned into a vacation one EV-W student will never forget. Austin Meyers found himself in New York City in the midst of Hurricane Sandy. The junior, who is new to EVW this year, was visiting the Big Apple with his mom, older sister, two aunts and grandmother.

It was a last-minute trip for Meyers. "They asked me Thursday night if I wanted to go," Meyers said. "I thought, 'why not'."
