Recent rail-related incidents prompt urgent safety warnings

MnDOT reminds public to use caution around railroad tracks

In the wake of two recent rail-related incidents, the Minnesota Department of Transportation reminds motorists, bicyclists, pedestrians and railroad passengers to always use caution and observe the law when they are near or crossing railroad tracks.

I'd like to request a subscription as Active Duty, please. I enjoy getting the home-town paper, and I would have done this sooner, but there's been a lot of stuff going on.

Korea was amazing and I could talk all day about it. Now, I'm stationed in Florida (the Panhandle-Eglin Air Force Base), and have been enjoying it. I sure miss my four seasons but the longer I stay here, the more and more I recognize the subtle seasonal changes.

Arrest in Eden Valley

Friday, Oct. 12, at 6:05 a.m. the Meeker County Sheriff's Office responded to an address in Eden Valley to check on a person who had a Meeker County Warrant. When officers arrived, Nicholas Winnings, age 27, of Litchfield, fled on foot from the deputies, but was arrested a short distance away and was taken to Meeker County Jail with additional charges pending.
