Express split weekend game

Express drops first CVL game Saturday, May 11

Eden Valley Hawks defeated the Kimball Express 6-4 on a cool and windy Saturday afternoon in Kimball. The Hawks outhit the Express 16-14 in plating the 6 winning runs. Dan Hansen pitched all nine innings for the Hawks in gaining the win. Matt Dingmann started for the Express, relieved by Aaron Laabs in the seventh, takes the loss, and Ben Johnson in the ninth. Hitting highlights for the Express were Johnson 3 for 5 - 3 doubles, Scott Marquardt 3 for 4 – double, Kyle Winter 3 for 5, and Brooks Marquardt 2 for 5 – solo homerun in the seventh.

Express Defeat Lakers Sunday, May 12

The Express traveled to Marty on Sunday to take on the Pearl Lake Lakers. With the winds not quite as strong and temperatures a bit warmer than Saturday, the Express picked up the road victory 11 – 3. Andy Dingmann started on the mound and got the pitching win. He was relieved by Aaron Laabs in the seventh and Adam Beyer in the ninth. Offensively, the Express was again led by Ben Johnson going
3 for 5 –triple, double, and
4 RBI. Kyle Winter 2 for 4 and Jordan Joseph 2 for 2 – 3 runs scored. Record stands 3 – 1 Overall and 3 – 1 Central Valley League South.
