The Great Northern Theatre Company is well into rehearsals for its summer production of "The Sound of Music." The songs alone are well worth the price of a ticket and are sure to give you chills. The entire cast sounds incredible, especially when all of the nuns are together on stage ... phenomenal! It takes a talented and dedicated crew to pull off a successful show and assisting the director, Leigh Ann Davis, behind the scenes are Gregg Davis as Stage Manager and Brad Busse as Light and Sound Coordinator. The Kimball Public Library is offering a Sunshine Story Time series for children ages 3 to 7 at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays, beginning June 23, and continuing through the summer.
Children will enjoy stories and other activities at Sunshine Story Time, and be assisted in their development of early literacy skills. Early literacy is what children know about reading and writing before they actually read and write. The annual Kingston Memorial Day Service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 31.
It will be held at the Apostolic Cemetery in downtown Kingston, sponsored by the Kingston Johnson Kelly American Legion Post 483 members.
Refreshments will be served following the service by the American Legion Auxiliary members at the Legion Hall, Community Center. All are welcome.
