After being closed for almost two years, The SpeakEasy Bar and Restaurant has reopened in Eden Valley.
Owner Allen Foss and staff opened the doors Monday, Aug. 5, after spiffing up the place.
“It was in pretty good shape,” said Foss who did some work on the kitchen primarily, and a lot of
“Business has really been good. I’ve met a lot of really nice people,” said Foss, who owns an off-sale liquor store in Big Lake, as well as a bait and tackle store and a machine shop.
The SpeakEasy has both daily lunch and dinner specials. Foss hired Dan Gillan as the head chef and his wife, Lisa Gillan, to run the bar. Dan Gillan is from Boston, originally.
“We’re pumped,” said Foss, who is planning an open house later this summer. Plans are also under way for an Oktoberfest event, in mid-October where German food, beer, and music will be on the agenda. Foss said he’s also looking forward to having a Halloween party in the establishment.
“Everybody is very excited,” Foss said of The SpeakEasy’s reopening.
