Craft beer and fine wine pair up for a third straight year to benefit the local youth hockey program at the 2014 River Lakes Beer and Wine Expo from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at the River Lakes Civic Arena, located at 319 Central Avenue South in Richmond.
The Expo will feature more than 35 Brewers and Vintners offering over 100 varieties craft beer and fine wine. Early bird tickets are only $25 and are available for purchase through any River Lakes hockey parent, or by purchasing at Brinky’s Liquor in Richmond, Cashwise Liquor in Waite Park, West Side Liquor in Waite Park, St. Cloud, Sartell or Coborn’s on Cooper Avenue and St. Joseph. wineexpo.com. Get your tickets early, only 1500 sold! Any remaining tickets with be sold at the door for $35. Designated driver tickets are available at the door for $10.
Once at the door, participants will receive their very own commemorative glass to utilize as they indulge their palate with as many craft beers and fine wines as they so choose. Participants will move about with ease for four full hours of unlimited sampling. Expo organizers take pride in offering sampling in a relaxed and fun-filled atmosphere where you do not need to stand in long lines to enjoy the craft beer or wine of your choice. Brewery and Distributor representatives will be on hand to answer question, about their beer and wine, its components, and flavor. It truly will be an enjoyable learning experience for all.
New to the expo this year is a Silent Auction and a Home Brew competition. Home brew contestants will be sampled and judged by a panel of brewing experts to choose a winner. Sampling by participants will be allowed after judging is complete. And we welcome back the Puck Shoot and our music entertainment of Hell Country Truckers!

All proceeds benefit the River Lakes Stars Youth Hockey Association, which provides over 200 kids from seven central Minnesota school districts the opportunity to play organized hockey each year. River Lakes is a 501,c,3 nonprofit organization that provides a rewarding hockey experience, focuses on the development of players, while promoting a fun, fair, and safe environment dedicated to the respect, sportsmanship, and excellence of all participants. Money raised from this event helps us keep hockey affordable for all Central MN kids!
