Theft from fish houses discovered

On the afternoon of Sunday, Feb. 9, at 12:46 p.m., the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office received two reports of fish houses entered on Lake Ripley with property stolen. It was learned that some of the missing property that was taken was currently located at a residence on West 11th Street in the city of Litchfield. Deputies from the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office and a Litchfield Police Officer responded to the location and recovered some of the stolen property.

The suspects have been interviewed and admissions were made indicating the suspects entered as many as six or seven fish houses on Lake Ripley.  Fishing equipment that is believed to be stolen has been recovered and the public is asked to check their fish houses on Lake Ripley to determine if they are one of the many victims.

Victims are asked to contact the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office at (320) 693-5400 to file a report and assist with the identification of recovered property.

This is an ongoing investigation with criminal charges pending.
