The 2014 Central Minnesota Forage Workshop will be held at the American Legion in Royalton Wednesday, Feb. 5. The American Legion is located at 103 North Maple Street just off of Highway 10 on the north side of Royalton. Marvin Haul, Penn State University Extension forage specialist, will be the special guest speaker.

The workshop will start with registration at 9:30 a.m. with the program starting at 10, a lunch break at noon and adjourning by

Topics planned for after lunch include:

• “Alfalfa Nitrogen Credits: Progress on Field-Specific Recommendations” by Michael Russelle, University of Minnesota and USDA Ag Research Service. Russelle talked about this at this workshop in Royalton in 2009 in the beginning of this research project, so it will be good to learn about the results over recent years. • “Open Forum” based on audience questions and discussion items.

Jan. 24, is $25, or $30 on-site with a $10 discount with each membership paid for 2014. Anyone with an interest is encouraged to attend, whether a member or not.
