On behalf of the Eden Valley Area Library board, Judy Thielen and Diane Thielen spoke to the Eden Valley city council at their July 3 meeting.
The library board plans to apply for two grants that would pay the needed $59,000 to purchase and install a kiosk system for library books. One of the grants also would pay for book delivery for one year, about $5,000.
The Eden Valley Area Library is pleased to announce we now have in our possession, Journal Patriot bound volumes going back as far as the 1960s. We have through 2009 at this time and will have more as Michael Jacobson completes the binding process. We will have these all on display very soon. A very special “thank you” to Michael Jacobson, Steve and Karen Swenson for the donation of this great gift to the public. I know these volumes will be enjoyed by so many. Michael Jacobson is the publisher and editor of the Paynesville Press and the Eden Valley-Watkins Voice. Steve and Karen Swenson were the long-time publishers of the Journal Patriot. Again, we can’t thank you all enough!
