Kimball school board met Nov. 20

At least one parent was present at the Nov. 20 Kimball school board meeting to express concern, and a desire for a full-time superintendent. Shawn Meyer said we need a full-time superintendent now more than ever, especially with the financial problems now facing the district (Statutory Operating Debt, or S.O.D.). He personally offered to do whatever is needed to help pay for a full-time superintendent, even if it means selling donuts in the parking lot. “We get what we pay for,” Meyer said.

No board discussion was held at this meeting about starting the process to find a replacement superintendent, or whether that replacement would be full-time or part-time. Now that Mr. Tritabaugh’s resignation has been filed and accepted, the board can move forward to post the job, establish a hiring committee (that may include teachers and community members), conduct interviews, and hire a superintendent to be in place before June 30.
