At the May 7, 2013, South Haven City Council meeting, the city received donations for two refrigerators and a microwave for the new city hall kitchen: $1,000 from the Fair Haven Lions and $2,000 from the South Haven Sportsmen’s Club. In addition, Fairhaven Electric donated the lobby chair and table set, and South Haven Fire Relief donated an additional $20,000 toward building construction.
The city received a divided check of $1,383 from the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust; this is a rebate of sorts, the difference between what was paid in during the past year and what claims were made.
There were three fire calls and two rescue calls in April. The Fire Department received and is using their new GPS.
Landscaping work around the new city hall was scheduled to begin Friday, May 10, and should take about a week.
South Haven Days are scheduled for the last full weekend in July, as usual.
The city office will be closed May 10, 24, and 27.
The next meeting will be at
7 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, at the new city hall building.
