EV-W Athlete of the Week - Jared Streit

W-IMG 2240EV-W boys’ basketball player Jared Streit was recently named Central Minnesota Conference male athlete of the week.

Streit scored 58 points, had 45 rebounds and 8 block shots in four recent games. The sophomore post also was named to the All-Tournament Team at the St. John’s Prep Christmas Tournament, and helped the Eagles to a first-place finish.

EV-W wrestlers dominated on B-B-E mats

The Eagles wrestlers journeyed to Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa last Friday night, Dec. 21, and were not exactly given a warm welcome.

The Jaguars dominated the match in a decisive 46-27 victory, handing EV-W its second straight defeat. EV-W matches won by fall (pin): Senior Zach Blonigen, 120-pound; junior Cain Renner, 138-pound; senior Austin Peterson, 160-pound; and junior Luke Kuechle, 170-pound. Junior Lyle Miller earned 3 points for his victorious decision in the heavyweight division.

Next up for the Eagles is the Norwood-Young America Invitational, Jan. 5.



EV-W wrestlers fall short v Kimball

According to believers in “biorhythms,” a person’s life is affected by rhythmic biological cycles whichaW-IMG 2973ffect one’s ability in various domains, such as mental, physical, and emotional activity. Apparently, the majority of the Eagles’ wrestlers were experiencing very low, physical biorhythm levels last Thursday night.

The EV-W Boys basketball team shined bright in the St. John’s Prep Christmas Tournament opener Thursday night, Dec. 20, as they exploded for a commanding 66-46 win over the Rush City Tigers.

EV-W boys’ buckets bounce into B-B-E buzz saw

EV-W boys suffered their second loss of the early season Tuesday night, Dec. 18, at the hands of the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars. The Eagles were defeated 63-47, marking back-to-back road losses.
