We should be well into the Spring sports season by now. Instead, we are still shoveling snow and bracing for winter storms. Fields, tracks, and golf courses alike are buried (again) in white. But the sun has arrived, and with it warmer temperatures. Baseball, softball, golf, and track and field are coming. We just don’t have front-page photos of them yet, with all that green grass just waiting to show itself. So, in the meantime, enjoy this little bit of sunshine brought to Hilltop Health Care Center in Watkins last week, Friday April 19 to be exact. Johnny Pineapple brought his show to Hilltop, and we’re sharing it with you here, with warm, sunny wishes for Spring’s arrival!
Hilltop Health Care Center in Watkins invited Johnny Pineapple to perform for residents and family. Some of the staff and residents became part of the show. The scheduled pig roast was snowed out, but the concert couldn’t have come at a better time: Friday, April 19, was a cold and dreary day, and several inches of snow were still to come. The brief tropical blast was much appreciated! Staff photo by Jean Doran Matua.
