Antique Car Run coming to Kingston

The 27th Annual New London to New Brighton Antique Car Run is taking shape to again be a premiere veteran car touring event in Minnesota. The Antique Car Run is Saturday, Aug. 10, with pre-tours in the New London area Aug. 7-9.

You are invited to join the Kingston community for a pork sandwich and sweet corn dinner from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday. Wally Pikal (& his trumpets) is the special guest.

Spectators will see 60+ veteran cars from 1908 and earlier and one- and two-cylinder cars through 1915. They will tour more than 120 miles, recreating the prestigious London to Brighton Commemorative Run held annually in England.

Cars and drivers will come from across the United States. They will gather in the little town of New London for early touring Wednesday through Friday,
Aug. 7-9, before the Grand Tour Saturday, Aug. 10.

The Grand Tour starts at
7 a.m. with the oldest and slowest cars departing first from Peace Lutheran Church in New London. They will make stops in Grove City, Litchfield, Kingston, Buffalo, and Crystal along their prepared route. Cars will begin arriving at the Long Lake Regional Park in New Brighton no sooner than 3 p.m. and will continue to come under the finish line banner until around 6:30 p.m. The finish line is part of the city’s Stockyard Days.

Don’t miss an opportunity to see these brass-era cars making their run through beautiful Minnesota Aug. 10 at the New London-New Brighton Run.
