Kimball alumnus Mike Schultz has been selected as one of the United States Jaycees Class of 2014 Ten Outstanding Young Americans. He was first selected for state honors, and was selected from those individuals for the national honor.
“I’m incredibly excited to be named one of the Ten Outstanding Young Americans by the National Jaycees,” Schultz writes. “This award highlights all the hard work and effort I have put into being the founder/inventor of BioDapt, Inc., and a professional athlete.”
To give proper perspective, a few of the prior members of this elite group are John F. Kennedy, Bill Clinton, Wayne Newton, and Elvis Presley.
Schultz and nine others will be honored at a black-tie awards ceremony in June in Maryland. This is the 76th year the Jaycees have held this event. Another Minnesotan, Lauren Beach of Minneapolis, also is among the 10 being honored.
In other news, Schultz took fifth place snowboarding at the USASA Boarder Cross event at Copper Mountain, Colo., last week, April 9.
