Michael Johnson of Clearwater died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, suddenly and unexpectedly at his home. He was 53.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Rejoice Lutheran Church in Clearwater with Pastor Mark Coughlin of Immanuel Church of Forest Lake officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at the Daniel Funeral Home in Clearwater, and one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Michael Kirby Johnson was born Sept. 3, 1959, in Sandstone to Dwayne O. and Ina E. (Abrahamsen) Johnson. He grew up in Askov, Minn., where he attended and graduated from high school in 1977. July 27, 1991, he was united in marriage to Cheryl R. Anderson at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Forest Lake, where they raised their two sons Gabe and Alex. They moved to Clearwater in 2004. This has been his home since that time.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his best friend and wife Cheryl of Clearwater; two sons Gabriel (and Abby) Barnett of Minneapolis, and Alexander (and Krista) Barnett of Lino Lakes; two grandchildren Ava Grace and Uriah Courage; six brothers and sisters Jan Moffatt, Doug (and Helen) Johnson, Timothy (and Lori) Johnson, Scott (and Debbie) Johnson, Lori Giampolo, and Julie Johnson; many loving nephews, nieces, in-laws, family and friends.
