LeRoy Boline of Watkins died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. He was 77.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 15, at Ostmark Lutheran Church, Watkins, with Rev. Joseph Midthun officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Ostmark Lutheran Church and also one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
LeRoy F. Boline was born May 28, 1935, in Watkins to Frank and Hulda (Alm) Boline. LeRoy was united in marriage to Elizabeth Mackereth June 21, 1958, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Kimball. They resided in the twin cities for a couple of years where LeRoy worked for his brother in the auto parts business. They then moved to rural Watkins where LeRoy farmed to the present time. Elizabeth died in 1990.
LeRoy was a member of Ostmark Lutheran Church in Watkins, and served for many years as the caretaker of the Ostmark Cemetery. He had also served on the church council. LeRoy loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting, and attending garage sales. He was a member of the National Honor Society, and the Future Farmers of America. LeRoy had also volunteered as a scout master for the Litchfield Boy Scouts.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Hulda Boline; wife Elizabeth Boline; daughter Bette Jean Boline; sister Edith Bernice Boline; and brothers Arnold, Stan, Rudy, and John Boline.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law John (and Brenda) Boline of Watkins; grandson Jacob Boline of Watkins; nieces and nephews.
Music will be provided by Kathy Nelson and Lynn Tebben. Casket bearers will be Jim Turck, John Asfeld, Joel Leafblad, Mike Duclos, Wayne Mackereth, and Mark Sjobeck. Honorary casket bearers will be Allen Holmberg, Edwin Hallberg, Darwin Schwantes, Gene Schwantes, Paul Bouchard, and Carl Rockala.
