Gerald ‘Jerry’ Raskie, 72

Gerald “Jerry” Raskie of Litchfield died Friday, April 5, 2013, at his home. He was 72.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 8, at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield with Pastor Bill Kerr officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Interment was in the Lake Ripley cemetery.

Gerald “Jerry” John Raskie was born Jan. 13, 1941, in Kingston to John and Florence (Hess) Raskie. He received his education in Kingston and was united in marriage to Iris Rutkowski in Litchfield May 19, 1961. Gerald worked at First District in Litchfield for 27 and 1/2 years. He was a member of the Litchfield United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, camping, traveling, playing cards and taking trips to the casino.

Gerald was preceded in death by his grandparents Alexander and Emma (Anderson) Hess; his parents John and Florence Raskie; brother Glen; sister Kathy; brothers-in-law Larry Heyer and Ronald Miller; and step-father-in-law James L. Hansen.

He is survived by his wife Iris of Litchfield; children John (and Mary) Raskie of Litchfield, Joey (and Paula) Raskie of Katy, Texas, Jeff Raskie of Kansas City, Kan., Joan Raskie of Willmar, and James (and Anne) Raskie of Maple Grove; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters Shirley (and Rodney) Anderson of Nevis, Eva Heyer of Park Rapids, and Pam (and Daniel) Johanneck of Litchfield; mother-in-law Josie Hansen of Litchfield.
