Roger VanNurden, 70

Roger VanNurden of Watkins died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at his son’s home in Ramsey. He was 70.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 29, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins, with interment in the church cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church Monday. Rev. John Brunner will officiate.

Roger H. VanNurden was born Oct. 17, 1942, in Watkins to Clayton and Louise (Donnay) VanNurden. Roger farmed at Watkins and drove truck for a short time. He also drove school bus for the St. Cloud and Kimball school districts for many years. Roger enjoyed farming and field work. His hobbies included tinkering with old tractors and vehicles. Roger especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; brother Craig VanNurden, and brother Richard as an infant.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Randy (and Heidi) VanNurden of Ramsey; four grandchildren; brothers and sisters and their spouses James (and Diane) VanNurden of Stewart, Dale VanNurden of Rockford, Mary Lou (and Bob) Mobley of Buffalo, David VanNurden of Columbia, Mo., Jean (and John) Brager of Buffalo, Edwin VanNurden of Kimball, Cheryl (and Joe) Garding of Kimball, Michelle (and Tim) Kuhn of Kimball, Lori (and Glenn) Winter of Luxemburg; and sister-in-law Gayle VanNurden of Kimball.

Arrangements are with the Ertl Funeral Home of Watkins.
