James "Jimmy" Loesch died peacefully of leukemia Friday, June 28, at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by his family. He was 76.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Marty (Pearl Lake). Burial will follow in the Holy Cross parish cemetery. Friends and family may call from 4-9 p.m. Monday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring, and from 9-10:15 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Parish prayers will be at 8 p.m.
James Killian Loesch was born on the family farm in Pearl Lake to Alphonse and Theresa (Pelzer) Loesch. He married Virginette "Virgie" Liesch July 16, 1960, in Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Together for 40 years, they lovingly made a home and raised a family in which they both had much pride. After the loss of his wife, Jimmy went on to find love again with Linda. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He had a lifelong love of baseball and stayed involved in the game until age 73. Jimmy served in the U.S. Army for two years, and he worked at the Cold Spring Granite Company until his retirement in 1999. In his retirement, he initiated Bolagna Days at the Pearl Lake Lodge. Jimmy was a member of Holy Cross Parish, and he was a very active member in the Pearl Lake Recreation Club and community.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife Virgie, and brothers Edwin, Daniel and Patrick.
He is survived by his loving companion and partner in life Linda Feddema; children Scott (and Janel) Loesch of St. Cloud, Cindy (and Tim) Ramler of St. Augusta, Tami (and Ken) Molitor of Delano, Jason (and Jill) Loesch of Minneapolis; sister Laura Jane Leither; brother Roy (and Phyllis) Loesch; sisters-in-law Donna Loesch, Katie Liesch, and Renee Kunkel; grandchildren Meagan, Garrett, Kylie, Linzi, Brianna (and Mike) Jordan, Maria, Bella, Max, and Elliana; great-granddaughter Addilynn; and many nieces and nephews.
