Adella Theis of Eden Valley died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at Paynesville Area Hospital in Paynesville. She was 91.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley with Rev.
Jerome Naduvathaniyil, OSB officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Eden Valley, and after 9:30 a.m. Monday, also at the funeral home. Eden Valley Senior Citizens will pray at 4:30 p.m., followed by Eden Valley American Legion Post 381 Auxiliary at 6 p.m., Assumption Christian Women at 6:30 p.m., and parish prayers at 7 p.m., Sunday all at the funeral home. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Adella M. Theis was born Jan. 16, 1922, in Richmond to Joseph and Rose (Fischbach) Ressemann. She married Joseph Theis Nov. 7, 1945, at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley. Adella was a homemaker and lived in Eden Valley since her marriage. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, Assumption Christian Mothers, St. Joseph and St. Mary’s Catholic Aid Council, Eden Valley American Legion Post 381 Auxiliary, and Eden Valley Senior Citizens. Adella loved baseball, the Minnesota Twins, and collected admissions at Eden Valley Hawks games. She enjoyed canning, gardening, embroidery, quilting, and visiting with others. Adella volunteered in the community, she was always willing to help others.
Adella was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joseph Feb. 3, 1992; son Allen; sisters Bernetta, Dorothy, Ida, and Irene.
She is survived by her sons Robert (and Robin) of Cortland, N.Y., Jerome (and Jayne) of Peoria, Ariz., and Eugene of Cedar Falls, Iowa; brothers Ralph (and Sally) Ressemann of Richmond, and Roman Ressemann of Richmond; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
