Dale Schwarz of Eden Valley died Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at Hilltop Care Center. He was 77.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Eden Valley with Rev. Bryan Hopfensperger officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and one hour prior to the services Friday, also at the church. Burial will be at Eden Lake Cemetery in Eden Valley.
Dale F. Schwarz was born June 12, 1936, in Mankato to Lorenz and Leona (Bloede) Schwarz. He married Lois Ellison April 23, 1960, at Porter Lutheran Church in Porter, Minn. Dale worked as an insurance agent for more than three decades, including many years at the State Bank in Eden Valley and with Faust Insurance Agency in Cokato. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and served as treasurer for Eden Lake Cemetery for more than 25 years. He also was active in both the Eden Valley Lions Club and Chamber of Commerce, serving as president for each. Dale enjoyed fishing, playing cards, gardening, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother Ken.
He is survived by his wife Lois; children Steve (and Beth) of Charlotte, N.C., Brenda (and Randy) Hansen of Sauk Rapids, Tim of Minneapolis; grandchildren Sarah, Samantha, and Emily; brothers Wally of Mesa, Ariz., and Gene of Vernon Center, Minn.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Eden Valley.
