Dawson Deuermeyer died peacefully at his Rosemount home Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, after battling cancer. He was 59.
A celebration of life will be held from 12-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at Oak Terrace West Park, 12801 County Road 11, Burnsville. Per his request, there will be no formal wake or funeral.
Dawson Deuermeyer was born June 20, 1954, to Darwin and Arlene Deuermeyer. He graduated from Kimball Area High School. Dawson was a long-time employee of Cray Research/Silicon Graphics and a volunteer in the Rosemount hockey programs. His love of family, books, and coffee was unmatched. You could often find him in a library or coffee shop around town, and he was always willing to share his goofy sense of humor and infectious smile. He also had an uncanny ability to find quarters behind your ear.
Dawson was preceded in death by his daughter Kristine, and father-in-law Teunis Jacobse.
He is survived by his wife Hendrina; children Britany (and Ted), Aaron (and Michelle), and Andrea (and Dean); parents Darwin and Arlene Deuermeyer of Kimball; sisters Donette, Deanne and Denise (and Doug); grandchildren Emelia and Lauren; mother-in-law Tine Jacobse; and many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are preferred.
