Regina Schutz of Cold Spring, formerly of Eden Valley, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at Assumption Home in Cold Spring. She was 93.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at Assumption Catholic Church with Rev. Jerome Naduvathaniyil, O.S.B. and Rev. Julius Becker officiating. Burial will
be at the parish cemetery. Family and friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, at Assumption Nursing Home Chapel in Cold Spring, and from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Eden Valley, and also one hour prior to services Friday at the church in Eden Valley. Eden Valley Senior Citizens will pray at 4:30 p.m., followed by Christian Women Society at 7 p.m., and parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home in Eden Valley.
Regina Schutz was born March 6, 1920, in Watkins to William and Margaret (Mahowald) Ruhland. She married Nicholas Schutz June 3, 1958 at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley. Regina was a homemaker and lived most of her life in the Eden Valley-Watkins area. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley, Prayer Line, Christian Women Society, Mother Theresa Mission Group, Manannah Extension Homemakers, and Eden Valley Senior Citizens. Regina enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles, cooking, baking, collecting bells and reading. She was a very intelligent woman who was family oriented and a great hostess. Regina had a strong faith in God, and was very supportive of her church and local charities.
Regina was preceded in death by her parents; husband Nicolas Nov. 19, 2011; siblings Susan, Joe, Alphonse, Agatha Bulke, Esther, Rosina, Ludwig, Aloys, Lawrence, Edmund, Vincent, and Nick Ruhland.
She is survived by her sons Thomas (and Mary) Schutz of Sauk Rapids, Michael (and Kelly) Schutz of Lafayette, Ind.; and three grandchildren Michael, Nicole, and John.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Rice Hospice Program.
