Geneva Bennett of St. Cloud, formerly of Paynesville and Eden Valley, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2013. She was 84.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Church of God in Eden Valley at 553 Maple Street. Burial will take place in the Eden Lake Cemetery of Eden Valley. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church in Eden Valley.
Geneva Bennett was born Oct. 4, 1929, in Raymond, Minn., to Peter and Rica (Van Houten) Sankey. She married Lyndon Bennett Aug. 3, 1948, in Willmar. They moved to California in 1954. Four sons were born to this union. They returned to Paynesville in 1979. She moved to St. Cloud in 1998.
Geneva is preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1994; sons James in 1979, and Bruce in 1986; sisters Bertha Tazelaar, Cornelia “Connie” Wieberdink, Wilhelmina “Mina” Narragon, two infant sisters and brothers Joseph, John, Melvin and Wesley Sankey.
She is survived by her sons Michael Bennett and Jeff (and Kathleen) Bennett, both of St. Cloud; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; and sister Ruth Bryne of Superior, Wis.
