Arthur Runde of Kimball died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center. He was 89
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Kimball with Fr. Thomas Olson as the Celebrant. Burial will be 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Assembly Area 4. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball, and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
Arthur Lawrence Runde was born Aug. 7, 1924, in Minneapolis to Arthur and Ellen (Donovan) Runde. He graduated Valedictorian at Edison High School, Class of 1942. Arthur served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and the Korean War. He worked for Northern Pacific Railroad and Burlington Northern Railroad for 44 years, retiring in 1985. Arthur was a member of the Kimball American Legion Post 261.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Ellen; son Michael; brother Larry; and ex-wife Shirley.
He is survived by his son David (and Mary Jo) Runde of Bloomington; brother Richard of St. Louis Park; two step-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.
Memorials are preferred to the VA Hospice Program at St. Cloud VA Health Care Systems.
