Renee Topp of Eden Valley died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield after a three-year courageous battle with breast cancer. She was 63.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley with Rev. Jerome Naduvathaniyil, OSB officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Eden Valley, and one hour prior to the services Saturday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Renee W. Topp was born Oct. 3, 1950, in Hutchinson to Clinton and Audrey (Gerber) Hintz. She married David Topp April 15, 1972, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Eden Valley. Renee grew up in Watkins and has lived on Eden Lake since her marriage. She worked as a manager/waitress at the Paynesville Liquor Store, and the Litchfield Eagles Club. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church and Eden Valley American Legion Post #381 Auxiliary. Renee enjoyed gardening, flamingos, games, family get-togethers, and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter. She had a positive attitude and was a strong, loving, caring, selfless and peaceful person.
Renee was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her husband David of Eden Valley; children Lance of St. Cloud, Hannah (and Jason) Schefers of Richmond, and Brian (and Melinda) of Eden Valley; mother Audrey Hintz of Watkins; twin brother Roger Hintz of Litchfield; sisters Ruth Darcy of Freeley, Colo., and Karen Schneider of Watkins; granddaughter Ava; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
