Maryln Hunt of South Haven died peacefully surrounded by the love of her family Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, at her daughter’s home under hospice care. She was 64.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Kimball with Fr. Thomas Olson as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Anne Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Maryln Maud Hunt was born Aug. 18, 1949, in Cokato to Toivo William and Alyce (Olson) Kotila. She graduated with the Cokato High School Class of 1969. She furthered her education at St. Cloud Technical College. Maryln married Donald Roy, and he preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Richard Joseph Hunt July 19, 1975, in Kimball. Richard preceded her in death June 18, 1996. Maryln was employed by the St. Cloud Children’s Home and most recently as a senior advocate for Living Well. Maryln enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, deer hunting, darts and gardening. Her greatest enjoyment in life was the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Maryln was preceded in death by her son Todd Roy; husbands Donald Roy and Richard Hunt; father Toivo Kotila; fathers-in-law and mothers-in-law Charles and Arlayne Hunt, and Morris and Josephine Roy.
She is survived by her children Vincent (and Stacey Williams) Roy of Little Falls, and Melissa (and Ben) Rutka of St. Augusta; grandchildren Nicole, Alexis, Miya Roy and Derek Janisch (his mother Cassandra Janisch) of Annandale; mother Alyce Kotila of Sauk Rapids; siblings Ellyn Guerre (and Mike Hannan) of Blaine, Larry (and Gloria) Kotila of Dassel, Betty (and Roland) Jurgens of Clearwater, Jerry Kotila of South Haven, Cheryl (and Mike) Watson of Appleton, Wis., Darrel (and Kathleen) Kotila of Litchfield, Bonnie Kotila of St. Cloud, Brenda Stouffer of Morris, Diana Hentges of Kimball, and Terry Kotila of Mesa, Ariz.; and many nieces, nephews, and other loved family members.
The pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews Tom Guerre, Troy Kotila, Shannon Bollman, Brandon Kotila, Jeff Watson, Jennifer Kotila, Tela Hoversten and April Zamora. The St. Anne’s choir will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Kimball.
