Violet Gillman of Kimball died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at Hilltop Health Care Center in Watkins under hospice care. She was 85.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at the Kimball United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Felska officiating. Burial will be at Coleraine Cemetery in Coleraine, Minn.
Violet Lorraine Gillman was born March 1, 1928, in Grand Rapids, Minn., to Ray and Grace (Christianson) Watt. She graduated from Grand Rapids High School with the class of 1946. She was united in marriage to Gerald Heloff Gillman Oct. 9, 1948. Over the years, Vi worked at various companies in their accounting/payroll departments. She was active in the Kimball United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's group. She enjoyed reading, crafts, and puzzles.
Vi was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings Leta Horn, Walter Watt, Eleanor Kennedy, Charlotte Riley, and Lena Bottineau.
She is survived by her sons Daniel (and Cheryl) Gillman of Sunderland, Mass., Gerald (and Debra) Gillman of South Haven, and Kevin (and Kathryn) Gillman of St. Paul; seven grandchildren Jessica Morris, Brett Gillman, Devin Gillman, Andrea Gillman, Vanessa Gillman, Eileen Gillman, and Burton Gillman; five great-grandchildren Nieve Morris, Caitlyn Gillman, Ethan Gillman, Diego Gillman Loyaluna, and Patrick Gillman; and siblings Marie McWilliams of Grand Rapids, Ruth Goodell of Remer, and Donald Watt of Grand Rapids.
