Marian Enright of Walnut Creek, Calif. died Dec. 17, 2013. She was 102.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins. Visitation will be one hour prior to services with the Rosary at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. Reception will follow at the Parish Center all in Watkins.
Marian K. (McCarthy) Enright was born June 9, 1911, to Michael J. and Anna (Baden) McCarthy.
Marian graduated from St. Cloud Teachers College with a BE in mathematics in 1936, and USC with BS in Library Science in 1942. Marian worked as a teacher in Eden Valley and Litchfield, and as a librarian for the U.S. Navy and VA in California from 1945 to 1960; and the VA in Minneapolis from 1960 to 1972. She retired in 1972. She lived with her husband Joe in California and St. Paul until Joe died in August of 1999. She moved back to California in 1999 to live closer to sons Tom and Jim and their families.
Marian was preceded in death by husband Joseph W. Enright of Eden Valley; parents; sister Mildred Ryer; and brothers Eugene and Austin McCarthy.
She is survived by her sons James (and Marcia) of Seattle, Wash., and Thomas (and Gail) of San Francisco, Calif.; four grandchildren Marie, Julie (Furian), Brian and Melissa; two great-grandsons Oliver and Charles (Furian).
