Roselyn McCarney died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at Emmanuel Home in Litchfield. She was 93.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, Jan. 20, at Church of Our Lady in Manannah with Msgr. Francis Garvey and Rev. Joseph Steinbeisser officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Church of Our Lady in Manannah, and one hour prior to the services Monday, also at the church. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, at the church in Manannah. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Roselyn J. McCarney was born June 21, 1920, in St. Cloud to Albert and Mabel (Slette) Severson. She went to business school in St. Cloud and worked at Fingerhut prior to her
marriage. Roselyn married Robert McCarney Feb. 10, 1945, in St. Cloud. She and Robert farmed in Manannah and Roselyn also worked as a secretary at the Meeker County Veterans Service Office in Litchfield for more than 20 years. She was a member of Church of Our Lady in Manannah where she was a member of CCW. Roselyn was a great cook, and will be remembered for her chili, meatloaf, cinnamon rolls, donuts, and apple crisp. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, dancing, gardening, crossword puzzles, exercise tapes, and walking. Roselyn had a great work ethic, and faith was very important to her.
Roselyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert Nov. 5, 2012; son Emmett; and sisters Arloine Newton, and Clarice Severson.
