Ken Helling Golf Tournament a great success

The Kimball-Eden Valley-Watkins boys' and girls' golf teams hosted the Ken Helling Golf Tournament last Saturday, Sept. 15, at Kimball Golf Course, and you could not ask for a better day. Ten teams were competing for the top honors in this four-person scramble tournament. Team Kuechle and Team Tschumperlin came in with scores of-9. Tschumperlin won the tie breaker hole with a birdie and took home four casino packages for Grand Casino Mille Lacs. The Kuechle team each received gift certificates to area restaurants for second-place honors. There were six contests out on the course. Longest drive for men was won by Cris Risberg, while the longest drive for women winner was Kimball varsity golfer, Nicole Vossen. Longest putt winners were Scott Dice and Wayne Tschumperlin. Closest to the pin winners were Jeff Swanson and Mutt Mayer.

This tournament was made possible by awesome business support, golf team volunteers, and the hard work of the staff at Kimball Golf Club. The Kimball-Eden Valley-Watkins coaches and players would like to thank the following businesses for sponsoring holes in the Ken Helling Golf Tournament: Official Sponsors: Kuechle Underground, Arnolds of Kimball, RIE Coatings Inc, State Bank of Kimball,  Fire Trak, and Farmers Bank of Watkins. Hole Sponsors: Powder Ridge, Kimball Garage, Kim-Built Propane, Knaus Sausage House, Triple R Grill and Bar, Hendricks Sand and Gravel, Hendricks Bus Company, State Bank of Eden Valley, Eden Valley Lumber and Ugly Tom's. We would also like to thank the businesses that donated the many door prizes and silent auction items for our event.
