Kimball Band Program meeting Sept. 24

By Keith Haake, Band Director

As a 5th-or 6th-grader at Kimball Elementary School, students have the opportunity to join the Kimball Band Program. No prior musical experience is necessary, and we encourage all students with an interest in music to join our band!

There will be an informational meeting for all interested students and their parents at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, in the Elementary School Experience Room. At this meeting, we will discuss what the band program is all about, and what it has to offer each student. We will also discuss instrument selection, rental programs, and have parents sign up for a time where the student can actually try each instrument and, together, we can decide which instrument the student is best suited for. These "trial times" will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26, between approximately 3:30 and 6:30 p.m., so please be ready to sign up for a time slot. If you choose to, you may even take care of instrument rental at this trial time, and your child will be completely ready to go when lessons begin.

This meeting in no way commits you to anything, so even if you or your child are unsure about joining band, please come and gather some information so that you can make an informed decision. It is very important that a parent is with the student at both the meeting and the try-out.

We hope to see you the evening of the 24th but, if you cannot attend, please contact Mr. Haake at (320) 398-7700 (ext. 119), or by e-mail and we'll work out a solution.
