Upsala ends Eagles' v'ball season

UPSALA-EV-W girls' volleyball season came to a close Friday night; they fell in three straight sets to Upsala in the second round of the 5A West volleyball playoffs. The Cardinals downed the Eagles 25-23. 25-21, and 25-16.

The Eagles finished the season with a record of 15-10, one of the best finishes by an EV-W volleyball team in recent memory. The loss also meant it was the last game in an Eagle volleyball uniform for nine seniors.

Senior Kaylee Forcier went 9-9 serving with 1 ace serve against the Cardinals. The middle hitter was also 24-31 hitting with 9 kills and had 12 digs while classmate and right-side hitter Courtney Dilley was 24-27 hitting with 6 kills.

Outside hitter Clarissa Roy was 9-10 serving with 2 aces. The senior was also 15-18 hitting with 5 kills.

Holly Schumacher was a perfect 12-12 from the serving line with 1 ace. The senior setter also had

3 digs and was 83-86 setting with 25 assists. Senior libero Baylee Lahr 7-7 serving (1 ace) 9 digs.

Girls sweep Swanville

EV-W opened the 5A West volleyball tournament with a 3-game sweep of Swanville. The third-seeded Eagles won 25-23, 25-13, 25-15.

Senior outside hitter Clarissa Roy recorded seven ace serves in the match, going 13 for 16 from the line. She also was 17-19 hitting with 8 kills.

Teammates Courtney Dilley and Kaylee Forcier both hit double digit kills with 12 each. Dilley also had three ace blocks, while Forcier had one ace block and 4 digs.

Other Eagle stats included: Baylee Lahr 11-13 serving/1 ace,

8 digs, Jamie Scherer 13-14/4 aces, 5 digs, Holly Schumacher 7-7 serving/1 ace, 7 digs, 27 set assists.
