Renew snowmobile and other DNR vehicle licenses online

Through Stearns County's Virtual License Center

Snowmobile season is right around the corner. Renew snowmobile licenses, and any other Department of Natural Resources (DNR) license, online through Stearns County's Virtual License Center.

Rather than making a trip into the office, applicants can simply fill out the renewal information online, pay with a credit/debit card or e-check and their license will be mailed to them within approximately 7-10 days.

Every year, approximately 12,000 DNR licenses are processed through Stearns County's License Centers.

"We obviously have a lot of customers who are renewing DNR licenses," said Randy Schreifels,

Stearns County Auditor-Treasurer. "This is all about giving them options. Now they have the choice of renewing their DNR license online or coming into the office.  We want to make it easier for them to get what they need. This is another step in our goal of making all License Center services available to the public online,

24 hours a day."

Stearns County's Virtual License Center was launched in May of 2009, to allow customers to purchase License Center products online and avoid visits to the office.  The option to renew DNR registrations online, which includes snowmobile, ATV, watercraft, off-road motorcycle and off-road vehicle licenses, was added in 2011. In addition to DNR licenses, residents can purchase birth and death certificates, marriage licenses and marriage certificates online.
