Nov. 22, marks the 50th Anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination. The Stearns
History Museum is commemorating JFK by holding a round table event on Friday, Nov. 22, at 1 p.m. where memories of that day will be shared. We encourage you to write down your memories, or those of your family members, of that fateful day and submit your personal narrative to the Stearns History Museum. Staff will post every submission on our website and 10 narratives will be chosen for the round table event. The deadline to submit your story is Nov. 11. If you do not want to be considered as a finalist at the round table event, please indicate that on your entry. The Camps of Courage and Friendship Auxiliary invite you to attend their Annual Holiday Fundraising Party at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at the Camp Friendship Dining Hall, 10509–108th Street NW, Annandale. The evening features hors d’oevures and a dessert buffet, wine and beer sampling by Coborns, 50-50 drawing event (last year $1,000 was given back in prizes), more than 100 silent auction baskets and door prizes. All proceeds benefit programs for children and adults with disabilities. Advance tickets are $20 and are recommended as tickets may be limited at the door. The Eagles’ Auxiliary are planning a craft sale for 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Eagles Club, 41st and Veterans Drive (8th Street North) in St. Cloud, next to CentraSota.
The sale will include homemade bread, rolls, cookies and jellies. Coffee, rolls and cookies will be served from 9-11 a.m., and lunch will be served from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Looking for a fun and safe Halloween event to enjoy with your family? The Stearns History Museum presents Halloween Historia, the biggest Halloween family event in St. Cloud. Halloween Historia is a non-scary event that will bring smiles to your family member’s faces. Go on a Halloween scavenger hunt in the exhibit gallery, take a hayride in the park, ride the pony carousel, trick-or-treat, visit the candy witch, and much more.
Join us at the Stearns History Museum at 235 33rd Ave South in Heritage Regional Park from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. The building is decorated for Halloween so wear your costumes and bring your camera for great family photos. Concessions will be available at an additional cost and the event is peanut-free. Halloween Historia will not be cancelled because of rain or snow, please wear appropriate attire for outdoor activities.

The Junior Auxiliary of the American Legion will have their annual Kids Halloween Party at 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.
This will be at the Kimball American Legion Post 261. Tim Diffley will provide music. There will be games, tattoos, prizes, candy, refreshments and snacks. This if free of charge, and there will be drawings for prizes and fun for all. Wear your costumes.
