Between the Holidays and the spring thaw stretches a period of dark nights and cold days that may be the best reading time of the year. You can make it even better by taking part in Great River Regional Library’s Winter Reading Program.
The program begins at all 32 library locations Thursday, Jan. 2, and ends Saturday, Feb. 22. The program is for adults and teens in sixth-grade or older. Its theme is “Make Tracks to Your Library.”

The Kingery Family Singers performed Sunday evening at the Eden Valley Health Communities Holiday Gathering in the Eden Valley Event Center. The family of talented musicians includes (from left) Rebecca, Elizabeth, Michelle, David, Joshua, Abigail, mom Kris, and dad Mike Kingery; daughter Anna and her husband Eric were not playing in this song, they were off to the side with their one-year-old son Grayson. (The oldest daughter and her husband and three children were the only family members missing that night.) Staff photo by Jean Doran Matua.
Story Hour kids are showing off their reindeer craft at the Eden Valley Area Library.
Come and join the fun 9:30-11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, as we get creative with Elfin Magic.
